The Lamborghini Gallardo, traditionally named after a breed of the fighting bulls, was the company’s second generation of the iconic sports cars. It was the successor to Lamborghini’s first model, the Murcielago and was succeeded by the Huracan.
Although the production of this model was stopped in 2013, a special model named Gallardo LP 550-2 is still into production.
The Gallardo has been Lamborghini’s most successful model so far with over 14000 units sold so far.
Gallardo was also the first Lamborghini to offer the E-gear. A transmission system developed by the Lamborghini company which featured semi-automatic and robotized paddle shift gears.
Its successor Huracan has several technical changes but the carries the design elements of the Gallardo which gave Lamborghini the iconic design.
